“Roots”

My intention for this piece was to celebrate the intricate root systems of BC forrests.

The lush, verdant forests of BC in the springtime are truly spectacular.
New growth flourishes in every possible space competing for invaluable sunlight, after enduring a long winter.
I was particularly inspired to paint the tree roots on the forest floor - the way they twist and turn, the effortless
ebb and flow above and below the dirt.
